My version for our school prep rally:
Now this is the story all about how
My life got flipped, turned upside down
And I’d like to take a minute just sit like that
Ill tell you how I learned to beat the F-CAT
In west XXX born and raised
On the playground is where I spent most of my days
Chillin’ out, maxin’, relaxin’ all cool
And shooting some b-ball outside of the school.
When a couple of teachers said we’re just playing about.
Time to start learning, so we’ll pass without doubt.
I learned all about math and my mom was glad
And said “You’re doing so well! Go show your Dad!”
I showed my father and when he said, “Indeed!
Now learning everything 'bout reading is all that you need!”
If anything I could say that this man was right
And I thought, “Yeah let’s do it! The FCAT’s in sight!
I’ll pull up to the school around about eight
And yell to my car, “Yo, Mom see you later!”
Look at the FCAT, and feel totally cool
I’ve learned what I need, I’ll be rulin’ the school!
